Dear Friends and supporters of ADPI-ILOILO,

The greatest disaster brought about by Typhoon Frank to our province and city of Iloilo is truly tragic and unimaginable. Numerous lives claimed due to the flashfloods in various municipalities, city districts and countless families who became homeless overnight brings emotional and psychological trauma to all Ilonggos.

As of the latest report dated June 24th at 4:30 PM, there are 145 barangays already affected out of 180 comprising the city; 242,000 individuals misplaced out of 418,000 residents. The worst is there are already 169 severely injured and 21 declared dead.

Iloilo City Partial Official Report

At present, we have identified several evacuation centers all over the city and province temporarily houses the victims of the typhoon. Our Emergency Coordinating Council for Persons with Disabilities (ECC-PwDs) identified 138 persons with disabilities in the city and 140 in the province victims of the typhoon. As of this writing we still are expecting reports coming in from various heads of our federations in both city and province.

Sadly, relief goods and aids are slowly coming in and fast diminishing and our sector still hoping for direct aid to these victims.

Last Monday, the province, city and various municipal councils has already declared a state of calamity.

We are in dire need of medicines to cure water-borne diseases and influenza, vaccines for leptospirosis and tetanus, potable water, clothes, blankets, mats, household utensils, soap and food.
